Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A Year at our school
A much-loved tradition at KPS is our Annual Whole School Performance, where all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate. The event includes both a matinee and an evening performance, providing opportunities for families and community members to come together and enjoy the show. Performances always feature a vibrant mix of dances and beautiful costumes. Last year’s production was based on the children’s book, Are We There Yet? and this year we are excited to present, The Kanga King which is an Australian-inspired adaptation of the well-known movie and book The Lion King. These performances celebrate student creativity and community spirit, drawing many local families to Kandos Public School.
Infants, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Excursions
Excursions are a vital part of our school experience, providing rich learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Last year our Lake Burrendong excursion provided students the opportunity to explore, learn, and connect with nature while building teamwork, independence, and lasting memories.
Grandparents' Day
Each year, we celebrate the contribution grandparents make to their families and to our community. This special event offers grandparents an opportunity to visit and participate in their grandchild's school.

“All three of my children have attended KPS, and I can’t recommend the school highly enough! KPS has amazing, caring teachers, and the students are given so many opportunities to participate in a range of team sports and extra-curricular activities such as Public Speaking, the Gulgong Eisteddfod, the Peer Support Program, and exciting excursions that support their classroom learning.” — a parent of Kandos Public School
